Root Canal Treatment
Painless, precise root canals delivered with modern tools.
A root canal saves a tooth whose nerve has died or become infected. It is the alternative to losing the tooth altogether — and despite its reputation, it is one of the most comfortable procedures in dentistry when it is done properly.
Does a root canal hurt?
No. This is the question we are asked most, so here is the honest answer: the infection hurts, the treatment relieves it.
The throbbing that keeps you awake is pressure building inside a sealed pulp chamber with nowhere to escape. A root canal opens that chamber, removes the infected tissue and releases the pressure. Most patients feel dramatically better the same evening.
When you need one
- Severe toothache, often worse at night or when lying down
- Pain on biting down on one specific tooth
- A tooth that has gone grey or dark
- Swelling of the gum or face near a tooth
- A deep cavity or a large old filling that has begun to ache
- Lingering pain after hot or cold, rather than a quick zing
How we do it
- Full local anaesthesia. We test that you are numb before we begin.
- Rubber dam isolation. Keeps the tooth dry and stops anything reaching your throat.
- Rotary canal preparation. Modern nickel-titanium instruments clean the canals far faster and more gently than the hand files of twenty years ago.
- Irrigation and disinfection of the whole canal system.
- Sealing. The canals are filled and sealed, then the tooth is built back up.
- A crown, usually. A root-treated back tooth becomes brittle. A ceramic crown at a second visit protects it from splitting.
Single-canal front teeth often finish in about an hour. Molars with three or four canals take longer, and are sometimes split across two visits.
Afterwards
Mild tenderness on biting for two or three days is normal and ordinary painkillers cover it. If pain is increasing rather than settling after 72 hours, message us — that is not typical and we want to see you.
Root canal cost in Mardan
Root canal treatment starts at Rs 8,000 depending on the tooth and the number of canals. A ceramic crown afterwards starts at Rs 15,000. For larger plans we can split the fee — typically half at the start and the balance on completion.
Do not wait it out
An untreated dental infection does not resolve on its own. It spreads into the bone, and the tooth that could have been saved this month may not be savable next month. If you are in pain today, WhatsApp us — we keep same-day slots for emergencies.
